A Belated Father's Day Card

To Jesse,

Daddy of the 3 cutest little boys EVER.

I am so thankful for you, and all the things that you are to me...
...but especially to the boys.

We missed you like crazy while you were gone, but the looks on the boys' faces when you walked in the door on Saturday....

PRICELESS.

Especially Hayden's little happy dance.

They absolutely adore you.
And they aren't the only ones.

I apologize for two boring Father's Days in a row.

Next year we will not be in a hospital on Father's day. Promise.

*****************************
TO my dad:

I would've bought a card, but I don't take 3 boys to Walmart.
It's the rule.

I've always appreciated you, but not always been great at showing it.

Watching you love on the boys is probably the most fun I could ask for.

Hayden can't get enough of you and is always asking for "Papa's house".

We love you and appreciate you more than we ever tell you.

*********************************

To my Grandpa:

Someone could never make it up.
To the hospital on your birthday, and passing away on Father's Day.

We can't start to express how much we miss you.
Hayden was watching pictures on the computer yesterday and said
"Gate Gampa!!"

I love how much you loved him.

I wish the boys could've had more time to get to know you, but I'm glad they're too young for their hearts to hurt.

Because it does...hurt. so. badly.

I know that this is the natural course of things, but it certainly doesn't make it any easier.

You were the only Great Grandpa that our boys ever met, and that is awesome.

Birthdays won't be the same, Holidays won't be the same, visits to your house just won't be the same.

And neither will Father's Day.....
...it will always be....a little tainted.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandpa. I know what you are feeling and I hope now your Grandpa can find some peace and you and your family will eventually start to revel in the happy times. Take care of each other and laugh and cry as often as needed!
