Yay's & Nay's Today

I think partly it's the time of year, partly just our lives in general, but busy, busy, busy.

I know I sound like a broken record.

Here are a few updates of plain ol' happiness, and some of my plain stupidity :)

{YAY #1}
Today begins the 3 day Tulip Time Festival in Pella. SO. SO. SO Excited. My bathroom scale on the other hand, is not so thrilled. I will probably eat my weight in poffertjes, little bitty pancakes with lots of strawberries and powdered sugar.......ahhh. Happiness=poffertjes.

And you think I'm kidding.......

In other news.......this is my FIRST Tulip Time since 2007 that I have not been pregnant. Suh-weet!

{NAY #1}

Did you know......that if you park your car on an incline, nose first, and you have less than 1/4 tank of gas....your car will think it ran OUT of gas?? Yes, it's true.

And did you know, that your car does not CARE if you're parked at a strangers house? Mmmm not cool.

{YAY #2}

My current favorite show on the Food Network: "The Best Thing I Ever Ate".
Unfortunately, it's on at like 10:30pm. And it makes me want to run to the fridge every single time I watch it...just stupid.

One I watched the other day....had THIS ice cream place that....get this....SHIPS ice cream. Seriously.....if they wanted to send me some for my birthday...I would be eternally indebted.

And no, really.....I'm NOT pregnant this Tulip Time :)

{NAY #2}

On Tuesday, when Hayden were on our Mommy/Hayden Day, which was a lot of fun, by the way. I had pushed his nap time a liiiiiiiittle longer than I should, so while we were making our last stop before heading home, he fell asleep in the basket of the cart.
So rather than switching from a Lowe's cart to a Target cart, I walked across the parking lot. Not noticing the pothole that about knocked us to the ground, woke him up AND cracked my shin.in.half. Okay obviously not literally, but it hurts so bad. And the knot the size of a hockey puck doesn't fit so nice on my shin.

{YAY #3}

Hayden's latest cute thing.....singing. "Happy Birthday To You....Happy Birthday To You"...over and over....it kind of sounds.....and I mean KIND of sounds like the last line of Happy Birthday where you say "Happy Birthday dear __________". He is so sweet.

Oh, and another funny....last night Hayden wanted some animal crackers. I sat him on the floor and gave him a few. His brothers zeroed in around him and took almost ALL of them. Hayden just cried......'mine....cacko mine'....not funny, but really funny.

{NAY #3}

Owen, Silas & Hayden are currently making a mess of an entire box of diapers. Gonna have to wrap this up.

{YAY #4}

Two words.

Tulip.Time.

Yeah for Tulip Time! We'll be there tomorrow afternoon. If you happen to see me face first in a puff pillow or eating a dutch letter in one bite or licking my fingers and my kids' fingers, just look the other way...and know I've died and gone to Dutch heaven for awhile!

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you love tulip time. BTW, I always mark my stories and times of year by whether or not I was pregnant, and which one I was pregnant with. It's the only way to mark time during the childbearing years. : )

There are definitely some advantages to being pregnant during Tulip Time. Elastic waistbands...need I say more? :)

It's been forever since I've been to Tulip Time, I'll have to take my girls next year. Karis is totally into flowers of any kind.

Cute post. Love the shopping cart incident. That would be something I would do. :-)

It's funny to hear you say that about the Food Network because Joel and I were watching it at a friends house at midnight, and everything made us so hungry! If the kids weren't already in bed we probably would've gone to get something to eat. It's a good thing I don't have cable or I'd probably weigh 20 more lbs :)

Another "Yay" here for Tulip Time! We're going Saturday and I haven't been since before Addie was born. So like, at least 5 years! And you know I'm 100% Dutch, so I feel like I've been cheating on my heritage! On another note, I'd love to hear how you managed your "empty" car parked on the slope! :)
